UNESCO World Heritage
For mountain bikers, a new challenge in the Dolomites a new sporting event, which is at home in the mountain world of the Dolomites. On June 26, 2010, the Sellaronda Hero MTB Marathon will take place for the first time. The competition includes two routes, over 50 or 82 kilometers to a fascinating panorama in the middle of the UNESCO world natural heritage. The SELLARONDA HERO MTB planned on June 26 MARATHON will be held in one of the world’s finest mountain panoramas. The race takes place between the Dolomites of Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba, Val di Fassa and Alpe di Siusi. A competition with two levels of difficulty: A marathon course with 82 kilometers and a route for all (or almost all) with 50 kilometers. A challenging race that requires a good level of fitness: The line about 82 km has a difference in altitude of 4,200 meters, an effort that is made only by one of the most seductive views of the Alps, the Dolomites which belong to the UNESCO World Heritage.
The bikers for the first victory in a race are at the foot of the Sella and Sassolungo fight, that is intended to be a must in the international mountain bike calendar. TWO routes, a single dream two routes (iron) and one a long medium (Medio), crossing the four dolomite passes Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi and Sella mahlknecht yoke around the spectacular massif of the Sella (3.152 m) and the Sassolungo (3.181 m). A unique natural spectacle that will certainly compensate the MTB fans who present themselves at the start, along with the typical mountain huts and the delicious local specialities. In detail the two routes see the race of IRON, with 82 km and 4,200 m difference in altitude, as well as the race MEDIO, with 50 km and 2,600 m, difference in altitude before.
